I purchased the rear diff to go on my
735i, but sold it before I could install it. This will provide better take
off performance than your stock rear diff. Plus it's a limited slip
(meaning better traction) which was an additional option on most of these cars.
A "poor man's supercharger" is the way high
ratio rear differentials are referred to because of the difference it makes in
your take off performance. Gearing is lower to get you off the line
quicker. This is a HUGE boost for those of you who have an auto
transmission & are suffering with 10 second 0-60 times. The V8's & V12's
have HUGE power but are slowed down by the low ratio rear differentials in the
cars, thus causing near 10 second 0-60 times. Put the power down where you
need it, in taking off from a stop or downshifting to pass. EVERYONE needs the
take off from a stop light or while in traffic to get around someone who is
slower.
This will work on ANY E34 5 series, E32 7
series or E31 8 series. I haven't even taken it out of the shipping
container.
